Drinks Association welcomes ALM as Australian Drinks Awards sponsor

July 05, 2019

The Drinks Association is thrilled to welcome ALM as the sponsor of Most Improved Supplier of the Year at the 2019 Australian Drinks Awards.

Winning Supplier of the Year at The Australian Drinks Awards has always been a huge accolade. Last year, two additional supplier awards were added to the ceremony: Most Improved Supplier and Supply Chain Partnership.

Like Supplier of the Year, the winners are determined via Advantage Australia's benchmark surveys of on and off-premise retailers.

“The Most Improved Supplier Award was introduced to recognise suppliers who may not have the resource capacity to exceed the leading companies in overall engagement, but who have successfully set and executed a plan of improvement and have been recognised by retailers for improving their professionalism and delivery across the entirety of their commercial relationship,” explained Advantage Australia's Steve Andrews.

ALM Interim Chief Executive Officer Rod Pritchard (above, middle) added: “ALM are honoured to sponsor the Most Improved Supplier award for a number of reasons. Firstly, positive supplier and customer partnerships are critical for the long-term success of our industry – in particular, the independent channel.

“Secondly, ‘continuous improvement’ is a theme that all stakeholders of the industry should strive for, so it is fitting that this award recognises the supplier who has made the greatest gains among their peers.

“And finally, ALM remain a strong supporter of the Advantage group survey, as it represents the ideal vehicle to provide constructive two-way feedback with our suppliers, which ultimately benefits all parties. As this award is based on the results of the Advantage Survey, it provides absolute credibility to the merits of the award winner.”

Pritchard also noted that ALM plays a key role in helping its supplier partners move their product through to the independent customer channel.

“To ensure our customers remain competitive, we are focused on driving a cost-efficient supply chain model, providing access to a wide-range of products in a convenient consolidated shipment,” he said. “We leverage the scale of our operation to provide benefit for all stakeholders within the industry.”

The Australian Drinks Awards will be held on August 22 at Doltone House in Sydney and Pritchard is looking forward to celebrating with the winners.

“I certainly look forward to this event each year," he said. "We are very fortunate to work in the greatest industry, promoting amazing consumer brands, among fantastic people. The Australian Drinks Awards represents a fantastic opportunity to celebrate all these things!”
