Mercer delivers Drinks Industry Remuneration Survey findings

September 15, 2020

The latest edition of the Drinks Association Remuneration Review, conducted by Mercer, is now available for Drinks Association HR Directors and Board Directors to access.

The review is an invaluable source of market remuneration trends and insights for HR leaders. It provides benchmark remuneration data on key industry specific and cross industry roles from the 21 participating Drinks Association members.

These members also receive access to Mercer’s broader all-industry Quarterly Salary Review survey. The data is available via the Mercer WIN reporting tool, where it can be refined by peer group, location and more.

Mercer was appointed as the Drinks Association's new Remuneration provider in April.

Rupert Griffin, Mercer’s Industry Networks Leader, said: “It’s been great working with the group and I’d like to extend our thanks to everyone involved for helping make the transition to Mercer so smooth. It’s also really great to hear the positive feedback on the survey from members so far.”

The Mercer team has been busy generating bespoke insights dashboards for each participating member and will hold post-survey trends webinars during September.

The sessions provide a review of Drinks Industry Remuneration Survey, additional analyses and comparative insights, broader all-industry and FMCG market trends – including salary increase movements for 2020 and 2021 by industry, key results from Mercer's recent Sales Incentives Plans pulse survey and also explore the impact of COVID-19 on remuneration.

Survey examines drinks pay gap

Additionally, the Mercer survey looked at a measure of the Gender Pay Gap for a number of drinks industry specific roles and found where meaningful comparisons could be made, male salaries are typically higher than females, but it also found that the gaps are narrower than in the broader industry.

The survey also provides remuneration trends from Mercer’s general industry database, which shows that employees in the same role at the same organisation year-to-year received fixed package salary increases of 2.5% at the median.

Looked at by location, on the same basis, salary increases were highest in Tasmania at 3%, while Human Resources, Logistics and Marketing roles saw some of the highest annual increases.

The Mercer team are on hand to provide participating members with ongoing support and assistance with interpreting data.

The Remuneration Survey is a Core Service provided to Drinks Association Category One members.
