Beam Suntory named one of Australia's best places to work

July 24, 2020

Beam Suntory has been named one of the 50 best places to work by 'Great Place to Work Australia'.

Within the list, the company ranked No.15 of companies with fewer than 100 employees. This is the second year in a row that Beam Suntory Australia has been certified as a Great Place to Work, and Beam Suntory is the only beverage alcohol company to be named in the Top 50 list.

The Great Place to Work study is an annual comprehensive assessment of workplace culture, conducted by Great Place to Work Australia. More than 39,000 Australian-based employees from 124 companies participated in the benchmarking study. The ranking of Australia’s Best Places to Work 2020 is based on data collected prior and during COVID-19.

“The organisations in the study are leading the way amid the pandemic, demonstrating care for their employees, customers and communities during this challenging time,” said Zrinka Lovrencic, MD Great Place to Work Australia.

“The COVID-19 pandemic is a challenge facing organisations across the globe, and it puts a premium on being a high trust people-first culture.”

“Beam Suntory is very proud to be recognized as one of Australia’s Best Places to Work,” said Andrea Parker, Managing Director, Oceania. “As a world leader in premium spirits, we are lucky to have a team of driven, passionate people who love our brands. This achievement belongs to every member of our Beam Suntory Australia family – they have all contributed to our success as a business, and to building the culture we are so proud of today.

“In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Beam Suntory remained firmly committed to our Growing for Good vision of operating with responsibility and integrity. We put our employees first every step of the way, and together we focused on giving back to our community and our industry partners during this challenging time. This Growing for Good vision is central to who we are as a business, and it makes our team proud to come to work every day.”

Leila Watts, HR Director, Oceania added: "It’s an honour to achieve this recognition and it’s a reflection of the value we place on every person who works for our company. We invite our people to bring their unique viewpoints to work every day, and we are all challenged to innovate, improve, and try new things.

"Every day, we collaborate with our colleagues around the world, and we are committed to building a culture which is charged, creative, challenging and fun. That’s a big part of what makes Beam Suntory Australia such a great place to work.”

The Drinks Association recognises that a diverse and inclusive culture drives greater employee loyalty, better decision-making and higher levels of innovation and has created the Embrace Difference Council to support members on their journey of culture development.
