Developing capable, inclusive leaders is critical to the long-term success of the drinks industry. As businesses navigate evolving consumer expectations and shifting workforce dynamics, the ability to lead with clarity, self-awareness and inclusion has never been more important.
Leadership isn’t limited to those with formal titles. It shows up in how people communicate, make decisions, support colleagues and create environments where diverse perspectives can be heard and valued. When inclusion is part of everyday leadership practice, it supports better team performance, stronger decision-making and improved employee engagement – outcomes that benefit the industry as a whole.
Supporting capability through structured development
As part of our commitment to building leadership capability across the sector, the Drinks Association will again offer the virtual Career Development and Inclusive Leadership Program in 2025.
Facilitated by Serendis, the program offers a space for participants to reflect on their own leadership approach, understand their values and strengths and consider the role inclusion plays in effective team environments. It brings together evidence-based frameworks, guided reflection and practical tools, with a focus on translating learning into day-to-day leadership.
Delivered over three months via four virtual sessions, the program includes the following modules:
- Inclusive leadership
- Agile thinking and communication
- Signature strengths
- Leadership purpose
While the program is designed for individual growth, it also contributes to building a pipeline of leaders who can foster inclusive, adaptive and high-performing workplaces.
Part of a broader commitment to inclusive leadership
The Career Development and Inclusive Leadership Program sits within the Drinks Association’s wider set of initiatives aimed at supporting diversity, equity and inclusion across the industry. It draws on key elements from the Inclusive Leadership Mentoring Program – an established six-month development experience for future leaders – offering an entry point or standalone option for those looking to build their leadership capability.
By investing in programs that strengthen leadership and inclusion, the industry takes an active role in shaping its future. A future where workplaces are more equitable, decision-making is more informed and people at all levels feel equipped to contribute.
The Career Development and Inclusive Leadership Program is open to Category One Members and Partners of the Drinks Association.
