Strategy, sustainability and systems take focus at May 2025 Supply Chain Forum

Bringing together key supply chain leaders and partners, the Drinks Association Supply Chain and Logistics Forum held on Wednesday, 14 May was a powerful day of insights and industry connection. Generously hosted by Category One Member Lion, the event was a reflection of the strength of collaboration across the drinks industry.

Chairing her first forum, Tara Hamilton opened the day by welcoming the attendees and outlining the core purpose of the forum.

“Most of us are facing similar challenges across our supply chains,” she said. “The forum is a platform for us to talk through those challenges, share our experiences and perhaps find a new solution that has worked in other businesses.”

The speaker lineup reflected the breadth of focus areas shaping the industry. Kicking off the day, Peter Davenport, Principal Advisor from GS1 Australia presented on traceability and the latest tools helping businesses improve visibility and accountability across the supply chain.

Next, Angus McFadyen, General Manager Supply Chain at Endeavour Group, offered an inside look at the company’s supply chain strategy and the key network initiatives driving performance and efficiency.

Shifting the lens to resilience, Marjan Torshizi, Principal Consultant, and Warren Proctor, Associate Partner, from Argon & Co explored the theme of shifting from risk to resilience, offering practical strategies for supply chain leaders navigating AI tools and capability.

Sustainability took the spotlight with a presentation from BevChain, underscoring the increasing importance of environmental impact in supply chain planning and decision-making.

To close out the logistics focus, Joe Marsali from Hillebrand Gori provided an informative update on the global trade outlook, covering developments in ocean freight, US tariff activity and the latest reshuffling of shipping alliances.

Broader industry priorities also featured throughout the day. Sarah Abbott, Lion DE&I Director and SteerCo member of the Drinks Association Embrace Difference Council, presented on the Respect in Drinks Charter. She emphasised the importance of fostering a respectful and inclusive workplace culture across the industry. Julie Washington from Serendis Leadership wrapped up the day with an engaging talk about the Drinks Association’s Career Development Program and its role in helping supply chain professionals grow and lead.

The Supply Chain and Logistics Forum continues to be a valuable benefit of Drinks Association membership, providing a dedicated space for knowledge-sharing, collaboration and connection. It brings together supply chain experts, logistics providers and industry leaders to learn from each other and shape the future of the liquor industry.
