One of the industry’s favourite celebrations, this year’s awards will be hosted at the Ivy Ballroom in Sydney. The Australian Drinks Awards recognises, encourages, promotes and celebrates excellence in the Australian drinks industry Now in its ninth year, the Australian Drinks Awards have grown to become the premier event for honouring achievement and innovation in Australian liquor. Drinks Association CEO, Georgia Lennon said, “We can all agree that in 2021, there is plenty to recognise and celebrate. This past year, our industry has never been more innovative, agile nor inclusive. It has been so challenging in some ways but has meant that we also got to see the best in people. We look forward to acknowledging and celebrating all of that and more with you in August.” Thirty-nine awards will be handed out across Brand, Supplier and Contribution to Industry categories. The top 200 drink brands in the country are automatically entered into the Fan Favourite and Most Improved Brand categories. Thrive Research have once again been enlisted to judge the winners of these awards via a survey of 4000 consumers. In the Supplier category, Supplier of the Year, Most Improved Supplier, Category Management and Supply Chain Management Awards will be determined via Advantage Australia’s. Again, three Contribution to Industry awards will be presented: the Most Improved Gender Equity Award, Inclusive & Diverse Workplace Award and the Corporate Social Responsibility Award. “We expect this year’s Contribution to Industry awards to be like no other and for the competition to be tough. Across the board we have seen the industry lift and adapt to the most extraordinary working conditions. We cannot wait to hear our members’ stories of how they not just survived but performed and thrived in the year that was 2020,” said Lennon.
