Celebrating Pride In Drinks’ Year of Success

It’s been just under 12 months since the Drinks Association’s Pride In Drinks Industry Resource Group was established by a team of passionate individuals who identified the opportunity to further drive awareness and visibility of the LGBTQ+ community.

Pride In Drinks’ purpose is to be the leading body in the drinks industry for the LGBQT+ community. It was set up to champion inclusion and diversity through education, advocacy and awareness so that everybody can be their best authentic selves.

Last week, the Pride In Drinks committee spent the day together at a Strategy Workshop at Four Pines Brewery in Manly, where they reflected on a year of achievements and discussed plans and priorities for the next three years.

Specifically, the group discussed and explored key initiatives that would support and achieve Pride In Drinks’ two key pillars:

  • Inclusivity – Representing and supporting the LGBTQ+ community through an employee, customer and consumer lens to increase visibility and collaboration within the drinks industry.
  • Connectivity – Celebrating the community while educating others and sharing best practices within the drinks industry and beyond.

The day was facilitated by the group’s Network Lead, Tammy Heuych from Asahi Beverages and Network Co-Chair, Jamila Diamonon from Campari Group.

Following the workshop, Heuych said: “Yesterday marked the second strategy day for Pride in Drinks - and our First Anniversary as an Industry Resource Group (IRG) of The Drinks Association.”

“I feel so proud to be working with such outstanding, talented and passionate individuals from right across the industry. It is amazing what can happen when you put people who share a common goal and vision for the industry in one room together,” she added.
