The Drinks Association is thrilled to welcome its newest Associate Member, Henning Harders - an independent, family and Australian-owned freight forwarder, trade consultancy, customs broker and contract logistics provider.

Henning Harders has eight offices across Australia and New Zealand, and partner offices in 150 cities worldwide. With over 35 years’ experience in the international supply chain management of beverages and materials, the company is one of the foremost logistics providers in the beverage industry.

Anthony Byrnes, Chief Executive Officer for Henning Harders said: “As an Australian Trusted Trader and member of the Food and Beverage Importers Association (FBIA), we are at the forefront of all import/export regulations and logistics, helping us to support the efficient flow of your products.”

“Our beverage logistics specialists, advisors and customs brokers provide the ideal shipping and storage solutions for your product, whether it is beer, wine, spirits, juice, fresh milk or coffee beans. We organise and manage the shipping of materials, and will also arrange the shipment and clearance of entire production facilities. We are experts in our field when it comes to underbond solutions, government regulations, approvals, and shipping for the beverage industry."

Rather than have a one-size-fits-all approach, Henning Harders aims to turn a client’s supply chain into an integral part of their business success. Each client is assigned a specialised Key Account Manager to personally manage their business needs. And a dedicated business unit, Harders Advisory, helps clients improve their revenue and gain a competitive advantage within the beverage industry. This input goes well beyond the traditional movement of goods, providing consulting services such as risk reduction strategies, product and labelling compliance and improving supply chain performance.

The company's new state-of-the-art warehouse in Truganina, Melbourne, can provide warehousing solutions for beverages at 1,200kg per pallet. It has ambient storage for 12,500 pallets, complete with an ATO underbond license, advanced Warehouse Management System and HACCP certification. It is licensed as a bonded Section 79 (import and excise) warehouse to store goods subject to customs control, including alcohol products, deferring payment of import duty and GST until the goods are delivered into home consumption. Henning Harders can also set up and maintain a dedicated bond register to monitor receipts and stock movements, and offer relabelling, unpacking and repacking solutions.

In a recent case study for a customer who is one of the world's largest beverage companies and known for producing international beers in New Zealand, their brewing and bottling process required the synchronised delivery of materials from various international suppliers. The supplies included malt, yeast, hops, bottles and caps from various sources throughout Europe, UK, UAE and USA. The beverage logistics specialist at Harders knew to consider all aspects of the supply chain and to investigate with every stakeholder the specific requirements needed to be achieved for each. The stakeholders included suppliers, demand planners, and handling sites for loading and unloading.

The end result was the team developed a tailored solution for the supply chain that formed an integral and reliable part of the manufacturing process. In this case study, our beverage specialist team were responding to demand changes and production facility destination changes en-route that enabled our customer to maintain production, keep their customers supplied and retain their reliable brand reputation.

Contact Henning Harders today to develop a flexible and streamlined supply chain solution that allows you to focus on what you do best: supplying great drinks to your customers.
