Lion Australia’s People & Culture Director, Jane Hill is the new Chair of the HRD Forum as Christian Campanella steps down after four years in the role.
Jane has worked in Lion’s People & Culture team for more than a decade, currently as Lion’s People & Culture Director ANZ. She has been active in that role since 2021 during an extraordinary moment in Lion’s history. Beyond navigating the ongoing pandemic and floods, she has overseen a number of significant leadership hires, commencing in her role just before Anubha Sahasrabuddhe returned from the US as Lion CMO, David Smith joined Lion Australia as MD from Diageo, and Kerry Appathurai was appointed Sales Director in 2022.
Jane told the Drinks Association, “At Lion we know that policies are critical. But practices are just as important as policies and that’s about culture, how we show up and how we interact with each other. We work hard to ensure our culture is attractive for all genders. A place that women want to join and know they can grow professionally and personally over their time here.”
She says it is a privilege to work for Lion, an industry leader. Leading the HRD Forum is way to promote DE&I more broadly and to keep the industry moving forward as a whole.
“We’ve taken great strides forward at Lion and if I can sit at the table with other industry leaders, I believe that together we can really make this industry a better place to work for everyone. Progressive DE&I polices are essential for the drinks industry to survive and to thrive.”
